slow performance - windows 10 node

Post by Danbar » Sun Jan 20, 2019 8:40 pm

Hi,

I got a performance issue with windows 10 as host inside eve-ng
CPU spikes to 100%, but mostly everything works slowly when opening just a web browser.
Is there a recommended QEMU custom options ? or some other way to improve performance in windows 10 as QEMU node ?

CPU configured to 4 cores with 8192 RAM

Regards,
Alex

Actually no need x4 CPU assign for this win10.
All is in RAM.
And instead of VNC console use RDP-TLS console for it
see my w10 x1cpu and 16Gb ram, but with 8G works as well

FOR RDP use you must allow RDP on your win host.
As well make sure that a lot unnecessary services are disabled, like google service

I've tryied setting the RAM to 16GB and loigin via RDP-TLS ,but issue was not resovled, cpu spikes to 100% with every app.
If I don't run any app on windows such as browserm, then CPU utilization is fine, less then 25%.
Can you share your custom qumu custom settings for this windows guest ?

Thanks for you reply.

no custom qemu settings, default by eve only.
such issue can be if your native cpu hasnt power enough
I shared this win10 running on dual X5680 server
for eve vm assigned 24 vCPU and 80G RAM
