I have successfully installed 8000v (so I thought
) and even had it configured for SDWAN and working fine. I powered it off and turned it back on, and now it won't boot. I followed the installation recommendations in the how to
https://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/docume ... yst-8000v/. It gets stuck on boot with the following message.
[vmxnet3][WR][vmxnet3_get_command_status]: Received request for unknown command: cafe000f
Any idea on how I can resolve this issue? I would really like to get the 8000v working on EVE-NG. I appreciate any help you can provide.

set qemu version 5.2.0
and cafe output is totally noram behave on NIC vmxnet3, harmless

I tried setting the qemu version to 5.2.0 with the same results. The router would not boot up all the way, it gets stuck. I also tried using qemu version 6.0 and same issue. Do you have any other ideas or suggestions?

next question is what is your CPU model assigned for EVE and how many cores??

I'm using two Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v3 @ 2.40GHz on ESXi host where the EVE is running on. Virtual machines shows 8 CPU 2 core per socket.

First advice, set CPU to 24
and Cores per socket to 1
These are best recommended EVE VM settings

Hi Uldis, I tried changed the CPU count from 8 to 24 but I received an error. it looks like I need to upgrade my VMware license. Do you think the CPU count is contributing to this issue?
The error is
Failed - There are insufficient licenses to complete this operation.

Or run Eve on bare metal. I've seen way better experieces that way than my previous VMware and proxmox builds
