Cisco UC - Create Base Image Request for Help

Here you can ask EVE-NG team to add new images to the list to play in lab.

Do not ask questions like "where I can get image x or Y" in that forum

Cisco UC - Create Base Image Request for Help

Post by alreid » Fri Dec 20, 2019 6:44 pm

Hi All,
Please can someone guide me or point me in the right direction on how to create a base (Golden) image for Cisco UC devices. This should be same process for CUCM, Unity, IM&P and UCCX as as these are all based on Cisco VOS.

I would ideally insstall a base CUCM Publisher/Subsriber within a network range with AD, DNS and NTP already running to allow installation to complete and configure.
The idea is to create base lab with IP's, system accounts and services running that can be reused. Once I have this base image configured it could be saved to an external drive and moved to another EVE-NG system.

When I use the process outlined for creating a Windows Server (Yeah of course I know Cisco VOS is not Windows). When I add a new instance of the CUCM Publisher and start the node it just boots to the CUCM installation media (which is strange as this was removed).
Windows Guide - https://www.eve-ng.net/index.php/docume ... n-the-eve/

Can someone please help me or point me in the right direction to setup these base images that would be portable between EVE-NG systems.

I'm ideally trying to create something like this but make the base Cisco UC devices portable - https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/cisco-co ... ian-negru/

Thanks in advance.

Following along with those Windows template instructions is the right way to do it. After you get the barebones CUCM etc. appliance installed, I think you can just shut it down, and edit the template so that the " -boot order" parameter is set to "cd" instead of "dc" if that's the way it's set up and still causes you issues.
