Interface not connected but UP

Hi,

I add two node (7206VXR), i just start one of them. I configured the ip address / mask. I put the command "no shutdown" and the interface is going up (protocol status). I test it on packet tracer and the protocol status is down. Why the interface is going up on EVE-NG while the interface is not connected to any device ?

packet tracer is a Simulator.
It means that you don't run real IOS.
Packet tracer simultate link down.

Eve ( or GNS3 or Virl ) are Emulator and runs real images. In the virtual world, the layer 1 doesn't exist and physical link is always up.
