Before posting something, READ the changelog, WATCH the videos, howto and provide following:
Your install is: Bare metal, ESXi, what CPU model, RAM, HD, what EVE version you have, output of the uname -a and any other info that might help us faster.

Cisco Viptela SD-WAN vBond & vEdge not starting up, System Initializing. Please wait to login...boot loop issue

Post by Atags » Sat Mar 13, 2021 10:47 pm

Hello,

So I followed the EVE documentation for the Cisco SDWAN Viptela images set installs and all seemed good with getting the imaged into EVE and seen on the GUI Lab.
In fact, vManage and vSmart images and nodes work fine and can start up and function.

For some reason, after starting and trying to log in, only the vBond and vEdge image/nodes seems to be having this System Initializing. Please wait to login...boot loop issue shown below;
I dont understand why it will not work with this but is fiune with vManage and vSmart.
Hopefully somwone had seen this below and can help.
Thank you!

I am working with;
Windows 10, 8 core PC, with 32 gig ram
EVE-NG Community v2.0.3-112
VMware Workstation Player 16
I Tried both version of Viptela 19.2.4 (viptela-edge-19.2.4-genericx86-64.qcow2) and 20.3.2 (viptela-edge-20.3.2-genericx86-64.qcow2)

Just to add, seems like version 18 works fine, but anything with version 19 and 20 do not.
Anyone know why?
What would be different in 19 and 20 that cant work correctly, that 18 has?

Thank You.

In case that someone still have this situation - i was able to get the vedge image run on versions 19.X and 20.X selecting the QEMU version used from 2.12.0 to 2.6.2.
The template define version 2.12.0 but it got on a loop crash, but after that change the image load as expected.
