Hey everyone, I am using EVE-NG for the first time to get some hands on experience in the FortiGates in prep for the NSE4. I don’t have any issues accessing EVE-NG, I downloaded the FG image and got that up and running. My issue is I can’t connect to the FG through my web browser.
I currently access EVE-NG via 172.20.1.200, my home network is 172.20.0.0/16 with the default gateway being 172.20.1.1. On the FG I set a static IP to 172.20.1.201, allowed HTTP, HTTPS, etc. access and can’t access the GUI via HTTP or HTTPS.
I tried adding a gateway that points to 172.20.1.200 with no luck, I tried adding 172.20.1.1 as well with no luck. I tried changing it to my PCs IP as well.
On the FG I am unable to ping to any of the internal 172.20.X.X addresses. Unable to ping 172.20.1.201 from my computer either.
It seems that my issue isn’t at the FG, but more so an issue with how EVE-NG is configured or an issue with my home network which is a shared community WiFi solution.
Can any one try and point me in the right direction of where to look next?
Help with EVE-NG set up with FortiGate?

Re: Help with EVE-NG set up with FortiGate?
It depends where your EVE is installed.
If it is Esxi or VM ware workstation, it makse sense.
But all this stuff is described in EVE Cookbook chapter about clouds and network.
Gateway on lab node must be same as on your EVE like in your case 172.20.1.1, but not EVE IP
Anywau for deeper consultation you can come to eve live chat.

You must be my twin in this. Same exact issue. I have VPC's working but when I start the Fortigate FW Just a blank screen with cursor in the top left corner. It this because of telnet vs ssh?TabraizShamsi wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 3:45 pmHey everyone, I am using EVE-NG for the first time to get some hands on experience in the FortiGates in prep for the NSE4. Re: Help with EVE-NG set up with FortiGate?
I just spun up a new EVE-NG instance in VM Ware Pro Workstation 16 on a Ubuntu 21 based system. Went through the procedure again.
Gained a bit of patience. And it's working.
