Ultra VNC doesn't work and Forti products with multiple files to boot issue

Post by mohmed » Thu Aug 17, 2023 6:08 pm

Hello Guys,

I am starting using EVe NG , I have liked it so far.

I came cross two issues in Eve NG:

1- The issue was couldn't connect to the console to OS VMs (Linux and Windows 10) , and then have download the Ultra VNC and still can not access the Cisco routers and Windows, Linux machine by console. I have tried to google it and traying to find answer to issue, everyone is working fine with them but in my lab it's not working at all.

2- The second issue is I have FortiSandbox , FortiAuthenticator and FortiWeb that they have multiple files to boot the system, unlike the FortiGate which is only one file to name as virtioa.qcow2

in FortiSandbox Files: datadrive.qcow2, fsa-kvm.sh and image.out.qcow2
FortiWeb Files : many docker files and scripts
FortiAuthenticator Files : datadrive.qcow2, fackvm.qcow2, fackvm.xml and fackvm.xml.tmpl

I have tried possible ways to change the names , but it failed the booting process , how I can point to other files in the booting process?

Any support in this matter, I appreciate your help !

Thank you so much !

Hi
I have posted two separated issues
1-for OSs (Linux and windows) I am having an issue with console.. with Ultra VNC

2-for Fortinet devices is different case , which I can not boot different files unlike FortiGate is just one file to rename it .

They are different cases

Thank you

1. definitely issue is with your install of VNC then,
2. some of forti has more than one file, so simply need rneame it accourdingly, example forti manager

Same manner, if one hdd, then it is virtioa.qcow2
if many hdd then:

virtioa.qcow2
virtiob.qcow2
virtioc.qcow2
virtiod.qcow2
and so on, last apha letter is changing

For example new esxi ESXi vCenter has 16 hdd in the image folder
