EVE NG on MAC

Post by qwerty » Sat Jan 20, 2024 3:54 pm

Hi Guys,

I have been trying to install eve ng on Vmware fusion mac m3, it seems the issue rely on the fact that MAC run on ARM not x86.
I was wondering if someone else managed to run eve on Mac m3?

Thanks for the info, I saw it, however, was hoping that there was a workaround.

Struggling to install eve-ng on VMware Fusion Mac M1 due to the ARM architecture? Seeking advice from the community—has anyone successfully run eve-ng on a Mac M1? Appreciate any insights!

M1 , M2, M3 are ARM, and arm is not supported.

I was researching and find out that with UTM works, however, the ram is limited to 32 gbs on UTM.
That said the ideal scenario is when the EVE developers will announce a compatible version.

VM Ware simply does not work with M series CPU on MAC, thats it, and no exclusions or solutions

VMware works with Mac M series, for example if you install Ubuntu (arm version) it works just fine. The problem is the "translation" which VMware apparently is not currently doing.
For example UTM (virtualization software) supports this, you can install EVE on it on Mac M series. The problem here is that UTM only supports max of 32 gb memory to attribute to the virtual machine.

utm emulates cpu ! that's the reason utm is not good.
